A SPECIAL CHALLENGE: BUILDING AT THE FAMOUS CHARITÉ HOSPITAL

Team

In March 2015, G. Klampfer Elektroanlagen GmbH was allowed to start work on a truly mammoth project: The renovation of the bed tower and the new OR/ITS building of the Charité University Hospital in Berlin-Mitte, which is highly regarded throughout Europe. It opened in the 4th quarter of 2016.

The 21-storey high-rise ward block is considered a landmark of the Charité and, with its almost 100m height, is a dominant feature of the urban landscape that can be seen from afar. The building, which was opened in 1982, was completely gutted and is one of the most modern clinic buildings in Europe after its completion.

PRESTIGE PROJECT WITH HIGHEST QUALITY & EQUIPMENT DENSITY

Team

As part of the master plan, a new building for the central operating theatre and intensive care area as well as a state-of-the-art rescue centre were also constructed on the high-rise ward block.

The building's facilities include 15 state-of-the-art operating theatres (including two unique hybrid operating theatres: one with an attached MRI and one with an angiography robot), 70 intensive care beds, dedicated quarantine beds, central sterilisation and disaster response areas.

G. Klampfer is also significantly involved in the planning of the project, in addition to carrying out the entire low-voltage installation, including the 5 low-voltage stations and several hundred sub-distribution boards. The electrical planning of the hybrid operating theatres even comes entirely from our pen.
