SAXONY'S LARGEST TWO-WHEELER CENTRE
In the 10,000 square metre exhibition hall 15 in Leipzig, the Stadler company from Regensburg has created a huge two-wheeler centre. It is already the 20th branch of the family business in Germany - but also something very special due to the imposing historical building.
LARGEST SUPPORT-FREE BUILDING IN THE WORLD
there were no intermediate supports at the time that could disturb the spatial impression. A free span of such magnitude had never been achieved anywhere in the world before. After severe war damage, only about 60 percent of the hall was rebuilt by 1951, and metal supports and a gallery were added inside. After 1990, the city of Leipzig released the hall for demolition.
This hall was once the largest cantilever hall in the world. With a span of over 100 metres, the original condition was to be restored during the renovation.
After a good year, it's done. Zweirad-Stadler was able to celebrate its opening in the Alte Messe. In the huge hall, clients can now discover a lot, such as a circuit on which the bicycles can be tested.
