Expansion of the production plant in Hörsching
Wacker Neuson is a global leader in the manufacture of light and compact equipment. State-of-the-art technologies are used at the Linz site to develop and manufacture high-quality products. The plant in Linz is known for its high level of manufacturing expertise and is an important hub for the production and international distribution of compact equipment from Wacker Neuson.
As part of the plant expansion at the Hörsching site, G. Klampfer Elektroanlagen was commissioned with the comprehensive electrical installation, which included both high and low voltage current. The integration of various complex systems ensures a safe and efficient power supply for the expanded production plant. This included the installation and commissioning of a high-performance transformer station system to provide the necessary energy for the new production areas. A new low-voltage main distribution board (LVMD) was installed and integrated to ensure reliable power distribution throughout the plant. In addition, a safety lighting system was implemented to ensure safe evacuation in the event of an emergency, as well as a modern fire alarm system (FAS) to fulfil the highest safety standards.
A KNX system was introduced to intelligently control the building technology, in particular the lighting and air conditioning. In addition, comprehensive earthing and lightning protection systems were installed to protect the entire facility from surges and lightning strikes. Modern IT and measurement and control technology was integrated to ensure efficient production control. An energy-efficient lighting system was implemented to optimise the illumination of the production areas, while pipe and support systems were installed to lay the necessary cabling. In addition, cables and lines were laid for power supply and data transmission, and a flight lighting system was installed to ensure the safety of air traffic. Finally, modern switching and plug-in devices were installed to optimise the control and distribution of electrical energy.
The entire plant was designed for a connected load of 2500 kVA to meet the increased demand for electricity and to allow for future expansion. This successful plant expansion will enable Wacker Neuson to increase its production capacity and further consolidate its position as a leading supplier of light equipment. The comprehensive electrical installation ensures safe and efficient production at the site.
