DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEMS
This project involves the supply, installation and connection of the electrical and control systems for two climatic wind tunnels (CWT) built at the First Automotive Works (FAW) Research and Development Centre in Changchun, P.R. China. Both CWTs feature a closed-loop return air system that allows full environmental simulation for testing a range of vehicles.
Although both CWTs are similar in size and design, CWT#1 covers a temperature range between -300C and +600 C and includes snow and rain simulations, while CWT#2 covers a temperature range between +100 C and +600 C but without snow and rain systems. Both offer wind speeds of up to 240 km/h. Both include sun simulation systems, and programmable roller dynamometers to simulate driving test vehicles under a variety of loads and road gradients.
FAW is one of the "Big Four" of the Chinese automotive industry and a state-owned car manufacturer headquartered in Changchun. Since 2003, there has also been a joint venture between FAW and Volkswagen AG.
